I've been a photographer recreationally for about 5 years, but I grew up with a camera in my hand!

My name is Melissa Cook and I'm the photographer behind Melissa Cook Photography! I've had a passion for photography my whole life and I'm so grateful that I can share this passion with others. I live in the Northern Virginia area with my husband and our pup Joey. In my free time I can be found curled up with a good mystery book or crocheting way too many scarves for my family.

Let me capture those happy moments for you so you don't have to worry about it yourself. You should enjoy the moment, let me focus on making it perfect. 

I know I'm notoriously bad at being in pictures, and I know a lot of us struggle with the same issue. Take the stress out of those moments by coming to me and letting me capture those sweet moments for you. Relax knowing that you'll always be able to look back at your engagement pictures and remember that moment fondly. Take the time to capture any moment in your life that feels important, even if it's a random Saturday and you felt good. Those moments are so important in a lifetime that seems to fly by.

Photography has the opportunity to connect people. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words and I wholeheartedly agree. Photography has the opportunity to show our friends and families a glimpse into our lives. They can see how our children are growing, how we celebrate life's biggest moments, or how happy we are in the simpler moments. Whether you're looking to take a new picture with your pup or you're celebrating graduation, photography captures that moment in time.

We'll stay in contact throughout the whole process. I'll text you the day of our session to make sure that we're all set. We'll meet up, have a great time, get some phenomenal pictures, and part ways. Within 3 weeks you'll get your lovely photos back!

After we talk logistics, we'll book your session. We'll get all of the boring stuff out of the way (contracts, amiright?) and then the fun will begin! I'll send over an email with all of the details of our time together and we'll go from there.
